DMWire Docs
Early access

Quickstart: your agent on WhatsApp in 3 steps

No code and no server. You need your DMWire API key (it comes with your early access invite), the AI agent you already use, and your phone.

Step 1: add DMWire to your agent

Pick your agent and follow its page. Each one takes a minute. New to this and choosing? Claude Code and Cursor are the quickest today: they take the key directly.

Your agentWhat you do
Claude desktop or claude.aiIf you see Request headers when you add a custom connector, add one with the address https://mcp.dmwire.ai/mcp and your key. Most accounts do not have that option yet: then use the desktop config route, which needs Node.js
Claude CodeRun one command in your terminal
OpenClawAdd DMWire under Settings, MCP
CursorPaste a few lines into mcp.json

ChatGPT and othersRead this first: ChatGPT cannot use DMWire yet

To check it worked, ask your agent:

Ask your agent
Use DMWire: which accounts are connected, and how much of today's usage is left?

This is the real answer Claude Code gave on a fresh account:

Claude Code, real answer
You don't have any WhatsApp or Telegram accounts connected yet. On the free plan you have all of today's limits left: 50 of 50 sends and 10 of 10 new contacts.

Ask your agent to do it. For WhatsApp, give it the number you want to link:

Ask your agent
Connect my WhatsApp number +31612345678 to DMWire.

Your agent calls connect_whatsapp and gives you a link. Open it on your computer and a QR code appears. On your phone, open WhatsApp, go to Linked devices (under Settings on iPhone, in the three dots menu on Android), tap Link a device and scan the code. Prefer typing a code? Ask for a pairing code instead and enter it on your phone under Linked devices, Link a device, Link with phone number instead.

For Telegram:

Ask your agent
Connect my Telegram account +31612345678 to DMWire.

Telegram sends a login code to your Telegram app. Tell your agent the code. If you use a Telegram password (two-step verification), it asks you for that too. Details: WhatsApp, Telegram.

During early access you can connect one account at a time.

Step 3: let your agent answer

Ask for what you want, in plain words:

Ask your agent
Watch my WhatsApp for new messages. When someone asks about opening hours, answer: Monday to Friday, 9 to 6. Ask me before you answer anything else.

The agent listens with wait_for_messages and replies with send_message. It keeps listening while its session is open. How listening works.

Before you let it run

  • Your agent should answer people who wrote to you, or people you asked it to contact. Messaging strangers in bulk gets numbers banned, and DMWire stops it. Read Limits and account safety.
  • Free early access limits: 1 connected account, 50 sends a day, 10 new contacts a day. A freshly linked WhatsApp number cannot start chats with new contacts in its first days, so test by having a friend message you first.
